My name is Ralf Rohner. I am a commercial pilot and an internationally published astrophotographer, based in Switzerland.

While I started my photographic journey as a deep space imager, I mainly do landscape astrophotography today. As I cannot deny my photographic roots, my art incorporates the latest trends in deep space into landscape astrophotography.

I often get asked how I am able to record my images. The aim of this blog is to highlight selected topics and to help both aspiring beginners and more advanced landscape astrophotographers finding useful background information about basics, techniques, equipment and workflows.
